Babanaga Chilli Tamarind Sauce
Spicey, sweet and tangy but well balanced with three layers of natural heat.
Tamarind grows on a pod of a large, tropical tree containing seeds enclosed in a juicy acid pulp that is used in beverages and food. Tamarind has to be processed by taking off the outer hard skin and then deseeded in order to get to the juicy pulp flesh, before it is liquidised and ready to be used in our sauce. A long process but well worth the wait.
Spicey, sweet and tangy but well balanced with three layers of natural heat. A perfect compliment and an addition to any food being prepared and cooked, it can be used as an ingredient or simply used as a dip.
How to use it – If you like traditional sausage, eggs, beans and bacon, try the tamarind sauce in place of or even with brown sauce. Next time your making lasagna, add gradually to meat or veg mixture. A great addictive alternative
Marinate/Basting – works well with fish dishes, also marinate in all types meat or vegetable, longer the time to marinate the better the taste and flavour. Keep basting during baking or bbq process to create layers of flavours.
Dips & Condiment – Try the sauce with some of your favourites, pizza, tacos, chips, chicken wings, samosa, kebabs and anything else you can think of.
